By now, I’m sure you have heard the latest from Planned Parenthood in Florida. One of their officials testified in front of the Florida legislature that a baby boy or girl born alive during an abortion should be allowed to be killed, saying, “We believe that any decision that’s made should be left up to the woman, her family, and the physician.”
Sound familiar? In 2002, then-state senator Barack Obama argued against the Born Alive Infants Protection Act in the Illinois legislature saying that requiring doctors to save babies born alive during an abortion “burden[s] the original decision of the woman and the physician to induce labor and perform an abortion.”
In 2008, I went undercover at a federally funded Planned Parenthood abortion facility in Freehold, N.J., posing as a pregnant woman seeking information on getting an abortion at 22 weeks.
The Planned Parenthood nurse explained to me that the only abortion procedure they do after 22 weeks involves inducing delivery. When I asked what happens if the baby is born alive, I was stunned when she replied simply, “It does happen, where it’s still alive…but it wouldn’t be able to survive on its own, so eventually the baby does die.”
The way she comfortably revealed that leaving a baby to die after being born is a common practice for abortionists was unnerving. This is outright infanticide and our video – as well as the Florida Planned Parenthood testimony and the current case against abortionist Kermit Gosnell in which is he charged with 8 counts of murder for killing babies outside the womb and 1 count for killing a mother – shows that it is still being practiced routinely in the United States.
In our research, we have discovered that 48% of college students don’t even know that Planned Parenthood performs abortions, but when they found out, their support of Planned Parenthood dropped.
This means we must work even harder to expose Planned Parenthood’s extreme practices of committing abortion during all 9 months a woman is pregnant – including after pregnancy! Stay tuned to see what we have planned for Planned Parenthood this month.
