As most people are who care deeply about a certain topic are apt to do, they will go to great lengths to support businesses who also value the same concerns – or refuse to frequent establishments that believe otherwise. Abortion is one of those issues that is literally about life or death and both sides are passionate. One restaurant came down on the wrong side of this issue and pro-lifers took the opportunity to educate them about Planned Parenthood.
Planned Parenthood has been in the news a LOT recently, actually over the past year and a half, since undercover videos showed them haggling over the prices of the body parts of babies they aborted and selling them for profit. The “non-profit” has been referred for over 15 criminal charges by the U.S. House and Senate and is facing lawsuits and investigations in several states.
Why does this matter? For one, they are betraying women and selling their preborn babies out for profit. That’s horrible and illegal. Secondly, Planned Parenthood gets 43% of their revenue from taxpayers, which equaled over $553 million in 2015. There are a lot of taxpayers who don’t want to be forced donors to Planned Parenthood and the new government is making plans to finally defund the abortion giant.
That said, it’s understandable then that some people may be a bit bothered when a business goes out of their way to support Planned Parenthood. A restaurant right outside of Washington, DC was selling a burger/fries/donut combo yesterday for $20 and gave $5 of that price to Planned Parenthood.
“This restaurant can certainly do as it pleases and serve the food they want to but what a horrible business move to support the nation’s largest abortion vendor and not take a second to look at the scandal-ridden non-profit and maybe reconsider that decision,” said Kristan Hawkins, president of Students for Life of America. “Pro-lifers were right to take the opportunity to use the Community Restaurant’s Facebook page to expose Planned Parenthood for the criminal enterprise that they are and publicly force patrons to rethink their support of the abortion giant.”
Pro-lifers and others who know the truth about Planned Parenthood noticed the burger special and headed over to Community Restaurant’s Facebook page to voice their concerns, where the restaurant responded in a most non-businesslike way:
