Not all women will be welcomed in Detroit this Saturday at the Women’s Convention, a product of the controversial Women’s March in Washington D.C., both of which claimed to empower women in today’s political climate. Unfortunately, women who value pre-born girls and boys will be outside in the cold. Students for Life of America will be rallying outside of the event atCobo Center in Detroit, Michigan, on Saturday, October 28 at 8 A.M. We will be there protesting the Women’s Convention for promoting abortion, as well as the decision by the Women’s March to shut out pro-life groups from their March this January.
The Women’s Convention does not speak for all women, not even the majority. By partnering with organizations like Planned Parenthood, they are actually promoting a radical, pro-abortion agenda. They actually promote racism, violence, and the patriarchy through their unwavering support for abortion. For example, the Women’s Convention is discussing domestic violence, but won’t be discussing the way abortion is used by coercive men. They will be discussing the ‘patriarchy,’ yet abortion is actually a tool of the patriarchy.
“The Women’s March is very pro-woman–if you’re a radically pro-abortion feminist who voted for Hillary Clinton. If you’re a pro-life female then not so much. The Women’s March should answer for why they claim to speak for all women–yet shut out pro-life groups and pro-life women from the march in January”, said Kristan Hawkins, president of Students for Life of America.
Programming topics, according to the Women’s Convention, include justice, domestic violence, and racism. We are going to make sure that the Women’s Convention know that they do not speak for a truly pro-woman agenda. A truly pro-woman agenda would support women who want to have kids and also have a career. That tells the truth to women about how abortion causes physical, mental, and emotional harm. That tells the truth about how Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion vendor, lies to women and sold fetal body parts.
Pro-life female students will be outside the Cobo Center starting at 8 AM on Saturday, October 28.It is up to this pro-life generation to actively speak out against abortion.
