LONG BEACH, CA and FREDERICKSBURG, VA (4-19-18)- Students for Life will be rallying on Friday, April 20th, outside the office of the California State University chancellor’s office asking the chancellor to officially oppose Senate Bill 320, a dangerous piece of legislation that will mandate that 4-year public colleges in California dispense free abortion drugs, such as RU486, which has lead to some women’s deaths and numerous complications for others. Students for Life has been active in opposing the bill, speaking to churches, students on campus, testifying in Sacramento, and rallying several weeks ago outside the University of California chancellor’s office.
MEDIA ADVISORY: The event begins at 10 a.m. pacific time on Friday, April 20th, and will be at 401 Golden Shore, Long Beach, CA 90802. Speakers will include students as well as Students for Life regional coordinator Camille Rodriguez.
This is one of a number of SFLA events educating people on the dangers of forcing health centers on campuses to become abortion vendors. The FDA reports that such drug-induced abortions have led to cases of extreme bleeding, infection and incomplete abortions requiring a surgery, and even to the death of mothers. The drugs are especially dangerous to women who are later in pregnancy or are experiencing an ectopic pregnancy, both conditions which must be determined by an ultrasound (using equipment not usually found in a college health center.) And that is before we add in the emotional experience of waiting alone in a bathroom to see the pre-born infant pass into a toilet. To read about the most recent rally, click here.
