Pro-Life Man Sued by Abortion Groups for Calling Abortion Murder

Mark Lee Dickson, a pro-life activist in Texas, is being sued by three pro-abortion organizations for referring to abortion groups as “criminal organizations” and abortion as “murder.” Dickson is the director of Right to Life East Texas, an organization that has worked to declare various cities and towns in Texas as sanctuaries for the pre-born. The same abortion groups that are now suing him – the Lilith Fund, the Afiya Center, and the Texas Equal Access Fund – had previously worked with the ACLU of Texas and ACLU National to sue cities for banning abortion within their jurisdiction. Congress Wants YOU… To Pay for Your Neighbor’s Abortion

“Americans are growing restless as judges continue to force on them the radical abortion policies allowed by Roe and Doe and support all kinds of limits on abortion. But one things is clear, the majority – whether calling themselves pro-life or pro-choice – don’t want scarce tax dollars paying for abortions,” said Students for Life of America President Kristan Hawkins.

WASHINGTON D.C. (06-13-19) – As the U.S. House considers a budget that includes Hyde Amendment protections that limit taxpayer funding of abortion to the three exceptions, Students for Life of America President Kristan Hawkins observed, “The Hyde Amendment is a bi-partisan bottom line for the majority of taxpayers, no matter their views on abortion.”

“While Students for Life has spearheaded an effort to open conversation on how we view and talk about people conceived in rape, our support for the Hyde Amendment is clear and strong. Defunding the abortion industry to redirect resources to real, full-service medical facilities is an absolute priority,” said Hawkins.

A poll sponsored earlier this year by SFLA found that Millennials supported defunding Planned Parenthood in favor of other locations. By about a 3 to 1 margin (48 percent to 17 percent), Millennials said they preferred that their tax monies went to Federally Qualified Health Centers rather than the abortion giant, Planned Parenthood.

“Democratic presidential candidates united in their goal to force federal funding of all abortions are out of step with the rest of America. Our poll also found that only 7 percent of Millennials shared the position of the Democratic Party Platform – abortion without any exceptions and funded by tax dollars. We already saw in the healthcare debates that ordinary people don’t want to be forced into business with Planned Parenthood. At that time, a Quinnipiac poll found that more than 7 in 10 Americans – self-described as pro-life or pro-choice – said they did not want their tax dollars to pay for abortions. Our polling shows that hasn’t changed.”
