Pro-Life Man Sued by Abortion Groups for Calling Abortion Murder

Mark Lee Dickson, a pro-life activist in Texas, is being sued by three pro-abortion organizations for referring to abortion groups as “criminal organizations” and abortion as “murder.” Dickson is the director of Right to Life East Texas, an organization that has worked to declare various cities and towns in Texas as sanctuaries for the pre-born. Students for Life of America Youth to Testify in Opposition to California Campus Abortion Bill SB-24

MEDIA ADVISORY: Students for Life of America will hold a Stop SB-24 Rally on Tuesday, June 25^that 10:30 a.m. local time on the front steps of the California State Capitol, 1315 10th St, Sacramento, CA.

The hearingof the State Assembly Higher Education Committee will begin at 1:30 p.m. in Room 437 in the Capitol with TWO SFLA-affiliated students speaking: Bernadette Tasy and Tamika Bassman. And the hearing can be watched live at https://www.assembly.ca.gov

Students for Life of America and other concerned citizens will rally and testify in opposition to SB-24. SFLA has been actively campaigning against this legislation since January, and its identical twin, SB-320, for the prior year and a half.

Senate Bill 24 in California would mandate that taxpayer-funded universities dispense abortion drugs. Within 4 years following SB-24’s passage, all public universities in the state would be required to enable abortions on campuses, including dispensing dangerous drugs such as RU-486 to students.

Students for Life of America and the pro-life leaders of California already defeated the campus abortion bill last year, when Gov. Brown vetoed SB-320. However, Senator Connie Leyva reintroduced the bill in December 2018 as Senate Bill 24. The new California Gov. Newsom has pledged to sign SB-24 if it passes through both the senate and the assembly.

Students for Life of America campus groups participated in a display last year highlighting the rampant dangers of RU 486 ‘toilet bowl’ abortions. The display involved an array of toilet seats alongside informational banners and handouts – one seat for each of the 22 women who have died as a direct result of the abortion pill since its FDA approval (which is fully separate from the multitude of others who have been hospitalized following complications).

One of the student leaders who has led the charge (heavily, we might add) is Bernadette Tasy, who is a recent graduate of Fresno State University and leader of Fresno Pro-Life Future. Bernadette has been working nonstop – keeping her fellow students safe from dangerous drugs, mandated in the name of politics, and protecting the conscience rights of schools that did not set out to be abortion facilities. Since SB-320’s inception, she has:

Led multiple displays and outreach tables on campus.
Educated the community on the bill by speaking at churches.
Collected signatures for the No Campus Abortions petition.
Met with her local representatives to express opposition.
Met with her school administration to express concerns for the safety of students.
Attended MANY lobby days and hearings at the capitol.
Oh, and she met the President when Students for Life was invited to the White House.

The other student testifying is Tamika Bassman, who just graduated from UC Berkeley and will be attending graduate school at Stanford.

These girls and a small army of peers and other concerned community members have spent the better part of the last two years fighting this barbaric legislation. California’s new governor seems to be out for blood, literally. So as the brave Pro-Life Generation heads to the state house on Tuesday, all eyes will be watching to see if California truly has zero respect for human life.
